Yoga has become a very popular way of
exercise. With many classes, styles and instructors, it is sometimes difficult to make up our mind how and where to start the practice.

In the 2 + 2 hour workshop we will go through the basic principles of yoga – breath, asanas, relaxation. We will cover the Sun Salutation A in details. This sequence of 9 asanas can on its own be your daily practice. Practising sun salutations regularly keeps the body strong and flexible.

We will continue with basic asanas that are part of almost every yoga class. The focus will be on alignment, correct breathing and benefits of each posture. With notes about what to avoid in these postures, how to practise safely.

Breath and relaxation are a core of a yoga practice. When the breath flows freely, our bodies and mind can function well. When the breath is restricted, we are tensed. By paying attention to our breathing we can explore the connection between our breath and mind.

In our busy lives it is necessary to find time to relax. To find time to explore our selves. There is also time in every yoga class to relax in the final pose, Savasana.
